I took this photo in the summer. The ducks always see me before I can snap a picture...so far. I think I need to get a duck blind......I like this picture any way.

It is hunting season, so they are extra nervous. My tricks are: go to national wildlife refuges. They are more used to seeing humans there and not getting killed, yet they are still wild. Go when it is really bright with shutter pre-armed at 1/500 or 1/800, center focus, continuous drive. Practice with insects for quick captures of moving targets. You will only have about a 1/2 second to point and shoot and then follow through. I am too impatient for duck blinds.
